A Training Business

The 4JH team reached out to us to design and build a new website for their training company. The team runs courses in first aid and construction industry health and safety across Southampton and Swansea areas. They needed a high-end site that would convey the standard of training that they deliver. However, their USP is that they offer a friendly and personal touch in all of their courses, this would need to be conveyed to potential clients. The site would need to have a booking portal that accepted payment and integrated to staff calendars. This portal would need to be functional for the team to add and remove courses without assistance.

Our Web Design for the Client

Our team created a site with over 30 pages. The use of striking colour themes coupled with relaxed cartoon-like imagery allows for the personal touch and relaxed nature of the staff to shine through. A booking portal was created which allows for customers to pay the business on the website, it also sends emails directly to the client and the business to confirm the bookings, and integrates to Google Calendar on each of the staff members’ devices. The courses include a filter to allow users to search by the type of course they wish to book, and each course has a bespoke page that allows that user to learn more about requirements and awards.

The Course Filter

We created a series of filterable taxonomies around each of the courses so that users can find the courses that they need quickly and easily. Want to book a first aid course, perhaps not, maybe a fire training course; these can all be displayed to the user at the click of a button. This allows the business to produce the high-end professional look that they wanted and starts the rapport building with their clients.

The Booking System

Many of the courses span multiple days, others a single day, some half-days; this meant that the booking system would need to be flexible and manageable for users. We created a booking system that allows the 4JH staff to add, edit, and remove training courses with ease. This then displays to their users in an easy to interpret calendar view. Users can book through here and pay on the website. Once paid, there is an automatic email sent to both the business and their new client to confirm dates and courses. Finally, the number of slots available on the course is reduced accordingly.
